‘Why is the early intervention, and taking part in the making of treatment regimens by multi-disciplinary strategy necessary?’, a question followed by a series of discussions to real clinical cases. In the night of May 24th, the Fourth Xiehe MDT Seminar was held successfully in Xian, Shanxi province. Surrounding 3 real clinical cases, some 170 medical professionals and experts from a multitude of clinical background collided intellectually with one another and provided their varied interpretations of the cases from their respective professional perspectives.
For facilitating the professional exchanges among China’s hospitals (be it TB-designated or general); elevating the clinical competencies of medical practitioners at the grassroots; promoting the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment strategy to as many hospitals as possible. So far, 14 MDT Seminars have been organized by the Innovation Alliance on Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment (Beijing), the event is also supported by the TB Branch of the Chinese Medical Society and sponsored by the Beijing Xiehe Pharmaceutical.
While the opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Liu Jincheng, director of the Shanxi Province Tuberculosis Hospital. The opening remark was delivered by Mr. Li Liang, deputy director of the Beijing Chest Hospital, Chairman of the TB Branch of the Chinese Medical Society, deputy director of the Innovation Alliance on Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment (Beijing). The case sharing seminar was hosted by Mr. Lu Shuihua, deputy Chairman of the TB Branch of the Chinese Medical Society, the seminar was joined by renowned experts not only from the TB clinical field but also experts from other clinical disciplines such as infectious diseases other than TB, hepatology and endocrinology, so as to provide a multitude of perspectives to complicated clinical cases.
