In September 2013, China Tuberculosis Clinical Trials Consortium (CTCTC, hereafter, the consortium) was established by the Beijing Chest Hospital and the Clinical Center on Tuberculosis, China Center for Disease Prevention and Control with technical assistance provided by the US NIH’s NIAID/DAIDS and FHI 360. Since its founding, the consortium has been serving as a platform for multi-center TB-related clinical trials, led a number of important clinical studies, such as the New Drug Introduction and Protection project (NDIP) and the RePORT Consortia researches. Its network has grown from 12 inaugural member hospitals to 29 CFDA certified clinical research sites all complying with GCP standards by 2023. In 2017, following the founding of the Innovation Alliance on Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment, the consortium has formerly become one of its subsidiary operations.
